Grade six is now equipped with knowledge to make informed decisions about the water cycle, environmental conservation and groundwater pollution prevention.
A – in collaboration with the Albany County Stormwater Coalition – highlighted the importance of clean stormwater and runoff to our urban ecology.
Using crumpled paper, markers and a spray bottle of water, classes discovered how melted snow and rain that flows over the ground, instead of soaking into it, can pick up dirt, trash and chemicals and carry the pollutants into nearby streams and rivers.
