Assignment connects with middle schoolers by speaking their language

A student presents a persuasive writing project.

Myers ELA is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!

Margaret Aiossa’s classes are finishing up a unit on persuasive writing and on Thursday to convince peers that their topic truly is the G.O.A.T.

The sixth-graders used pathos (emotion), ethos (credibility) and logos (facts) to advocate on behalf of a variety of topics which included (actual) goats, Bluey and – the sweetest – someone’s mom!

The project ends with a class vote on whose subject – someone or something - was the G.O.A.T and the winner earns a medal.
