Two updates from the City School District of Albany Transportation Department as we wind down one school year and look ahead to the next.

Final route changes of 2024-25

The final route changes for this school year will be for routes on Wednesday, June 11. There will be no further changes over the final 2+ weeks of school.

Applications for 2025-26

If you will need to submit a transportation application for the 2025-26 school year, the deadline to do so to guarantee busing for the first day of school will be Friday, Aug. 1.

We will do our best to accommodate applications submitted after that date, but we cannot guarantee students a bus assignment before Sept. 17 for applications received after Aug. 1.

Generally, families that have moved since the end of the previous school year, are new to the district, or have children leaving the district for a private, parochial or charter school need to fill out and return transportation forms.

You also will need to submit an application if your child is picked up or dropped off at a location other than your home, if your child attends before- or after-school child care, or if the location where your child will be picked up and dropped off is changing for next school year.
